KA1 VET - "Flowering and landscaping - profession and future for students with special educational needs' - Kardjali, May 2022

In May 2022, the Erasmus+ KA1 VET project “Flowering and Landscaping – Profession and Future for Students with Special Educational Needs” provided students and educators from the Kardjali Special Education Center in Bulgaria with an inspiring opportunity to explore vocational training and community-building activities in Castelletto Ticino, Italy.

The students engaged in various enriching activities, including sports, gardening, and outdoor excursions, fostering personal growth and practical skills in landscaping and horticulture. Under the dedicated guidance of educators Diana Momchilova, Violeta Russinova, and Principal Emilia Mitreva, the students demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and determination throughout the program, proving that inclusion and education go hand in hand.

The project was further enriched by the collaborative efforts of local organizations and individuals in Italy. Giorgio Pierucci, along with coordinators Lucia Veleva and Stella Scibilia, played a key role in organizing activities that emphasized teamwork and creativity. The community also came together to create heart-shaped wooden tokens, symbolizing the unity and shared purpose of this exchange. The heartfelt contributions from local volunteers added a meaningful and emotional dimension to the experience.

This initiative not only highlighted the potential of vocational training in gardening and landscaping as a career pathway for students with special educational needs but also underscored the value of international collaboration in fostering inclusion and mutual understanding. The exchange left lasting memories for all participants, reinforcing the belief that working together can make a significant difference in creating a more inclusive and supportive world.
